Avionics Technician

Job Description
Avionics Installations is an avionics installation facility on the Spruce Creek Airport in Port Orange, FL. We are expanding quickly and need qualified Avionics Technicians. The role(s) are full-time/Contract and open immediately. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repair, testing, installation and inspection of aircraft electronic equipment and systems, removal and reassembly of aircraft interior and instrument panels, fabrication and testing of avionics systems wiring harnesses, Pitot-Static/RVSM systems testing and repair, and maintaining repair station records and documents as required.
Perform avionics installations and upgrades for a variety of aircraft to OEM and aircraft manufacturer specifications Perform component levels repairs and re-certifications
Ensure the proper preservation and protection of all avionics articles during maintenance and storage; including incoming inspection as outlined in Repair Station Manual
Ensure that all forms initiated are completed in accordance with instructions located in the Repair Station Manual
Ensure all avionics shop equipment and tools are maintained and in good working order
Maintain work station in compliance with safety, fire, regulatory, and security requirements
Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Avionics Technician position must possess the following:

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
College degree or equivalent in aviation electronics or related subjects is required
Previous experience with the following manufacturers preferred: Garmin, Avidyne, Aspen Avionics, PS Engineering, JPI Instruments, S-Tec, and Bendix/King
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and schematics
Excellent oral/written communication skills and above average computer skills and proficiency
Ability to wear all required safety equipment; to walk/sit/climb/crawl/twist/bend/gain entry to/work in confined areas; and to work from stands and ladders
Must be able to lift at least 70 lbs and be able to perform moderately strenuous physical tasks which include bending, stooping, kneeling and working overhead for long periods of time

Personal Characteristics:
Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
Ability to work with a team and take positive feedback
Ask for help and offer help when needed to ensure team success Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and accuracy


Avionics Technician's Apprentice

        
Job Description
Avionics Installations is an avionics installation facility on the Spruce Creek Airport in Port Orange, FL. We are expanding quickly and need qualified Avionics Technicians. The role(s) are full-time/Contract and open immediately. 

Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting an Avionics Technician in the functions listed in the Avionics Technician job description. 

The ideal candidate for the Avionics Technician position must possess the following:

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
College degree or equivalent in aviation electronics or related subjects is required
Previous experience with the following manufacturers preferred: Garmin, Avidyne, Aspen Avionics, PS Engineering, JPI Instruments, S-Tec, and Bendix/King
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and schematics
